General Maintenance and Troubleshootin

What should I recommend to an Oracle DBA that now has to manage some SQL
Servers at his work? He's not a SQL guy at all, but needs to know general
maintenance tasks and troubleshooting tasks and how to do them.
Thanks!!!

Buy a book?
|||Start with "Inside SQL Server 2000" by Kalen Delaney. It is THE base
reference book for SQL. After that, he can look at other books with deeper
dives for specific tasks. Also, register at the various SQL web sites
(www.SQLServerCentral.com,www.sswug.org,www.sql-server-performance.com,
www.sqlteam.com, etc.). Most send out daily or weekly newsletters with tips
and suggestions. Many have extensive article archives as well.
A subscription to SQL Server Magazine wouldn't hurt either.
A good training class will help fill in the gaps, but that may be a bit
further down the road.
